Hooray for Mr. Winks!

Let me introduce you to Mr. Winks! Winks or Mr. Winks as I like to call him was a gift from my Aunt Cookie. Mr. Winks traveled all the way from Texas to get to me and I'm so glad that he did. Mr. Winks is soft, cuddly and just the right size. I'm sure to give him lots of hugs and kisses everyday and whenever I'm feeling blue; Mr. Winks is there to love me :-). I overheard Daddy tell Mommy the other day to be sure to get a backup Winks.....what do you think Daddy meant by that? O'well whatever I don't know won't hurt me as long as I have Mr. Winks around.

More Peas PLEASE!

SOOO for days my Mommy and Daddy have been trying to get me to eat this bland stuff called rice cereal. Have you ever heard of it? If you have, then you know how bad it tastes! If you haven't, don't waste your time.

Dr. Sideridis had said that my parents should start me on rice cereal first and then go to the green vegetables. I'm so glad that my parents finally got the hint because I wasn't really feeling the rice cereal.

Last night while I was sleeping my Mommy made up a couple of batches of pureed peas, froze them and then thawed a serving for me today at lunch. Well let's just say folks.... I LOVE PEAS! Hip, hip hooray! Daddy was so happy for me that he took a couple of snapshots to mark the occasion. Enjoy :-).

Saturday's Trip to Annapolis,MD

It's been awful hot and humid in the Washington,D.C. metropolitan area these past few weeks! So when the thermometer went below 90 degrees with low humidity my parents packed my bag, grabbed me, set the GPS and headed for a quick day trip to Annapolis, MD.

We started our afternoon walking around the Main street area shops and the Annapolis pier (see Mom and I below). Our stomachs soon dictated our next move.... LUNCH :-). Dad had a crab sandwich, Mom had a chicken salad and I had my usual (milk). It soon started to warm up so we stopped for some ice cream at a local shop. The ice cream looked good and I'm hoping to get a shot at some once I'm old enough.

Towards the end of our day, we walked around the U.S. Naval Academy. Do you know who went there? Yeah, neither did Mommy and I until my Daddy gave us the low down. former President Jimmy Carter, former Presidential candidate Ross Perot, and current Presidential candidate Senator John McCain are among some of the more famous alumni.

It turns out that my Daddy is somewhat of a history buff. I can't wait to learn more! Below are a few snapshots of Daddy and I touring the grounds of the academy.

One step closer to BBQ!

Mom and Dad picked me up early from Surisa's as we had my 4 month check-up with Dr. Sideridis. Dr. Sideridis is really cool especially when he lets me play with his stethoscope. Dad likes Dr. Sideridis too because he laughs at his jokes and Mom like my doctor because he's very thorough and spends a lot of time with us on each visit. Mom was happy today when she found out that I have the Pediatrician's stamp of approval to start eating rice cereal and solid foods. Of course I'm going to have to work my way up to the solid foods but my goal in life so far is to get my hands on some Texas BBQ! Dr. Sideridis couldn't believe when he heard today that I've been eating 9 ounces formula at a time. Please Dr. S, Surisa has been knowing this for weeks now :-). Everyday I would hear Surisa asking Mom " Is it time for cereal yet" and Mom would say, "No, we have to wait for the Pediatrician to say it's OK and they said to wait until 4 months". Apparently, there's a risk of me getting food allergies or something. Heck, I don't know I'm just happy that I'm on my way to some BBQ!

OH yeah, I almost forgot. Today at the doctors I got 4 shots (2 in each leg). It wore me out so bad that I had to take a nap (see me above). Before the shots, this really cute nurse measured, weighed, and checked my motor skills. As of today, I am 25 1/2 inches long (75 percentile); 15lbs 5.7 oz. (50 percentile) and 16 1/4 inches for the circumference of my head (25 percentile). The good news is that I still do not have a charlie brown head... whew! My parents are hoping that with my height I could be a NBA basketball player so that they can retire early. I told them fat chance....... I've got my eye on a political career.

So that's all for today folks. Tomorrow marks my official 4 month birthday and I'm looking forward to a fun filled day of toys, playing outside with Surisa, eating more of the delicious cereal and zerberts from my Mom and Dad.

A New World Ruler!

This week seems to be extra long for all of us in the Rahm-Barr household! Dad has been going in early, working late and several day trips. Mom is up at by 5:15 am every day, packs the car with her work stuff, lunches every day with doctors and working late too. Therefore, if you can't beat them, join them :-).

Here I am below in Mom and Dad's office (in our basement). I even have my very own desk.... complete with musical buttons, Bard the dragon, and a caterpillar with a movable body. From these photos you really can't tell, but there's a replica of a globe that spins. I'll let you in on a secret.... the desk is actually my command central where I can control the world. So be nice to me as one day I might just take over the world :-).

at least that is what my Uncle James says. What do you think? Can you tell which photo below is of my Dad when he was a baby and which one is of me? Perhaps you can..... the photography backgrounds have changed somewhat in the past 36 years. At any rate, my Mom is still hoping that one day I will exhibit some of her characteristics so that at least she knows that I'm hers :-).
