Race Day - continued

Oh yeah, I almost forgot..... did you know that when you finish the Race for the Cure they hand out all sorts of goodies with a scarf being one of them. Check me out below in this year's scarf. I tried to eat it but didn't taste all that good so, the best that I can hope for now is to use it as a summer blanket.

Here's a final shot of me on the way home from the race...... "Seriously Mom, enough with the camera!"

Race Day!

Today started off good.... I had a good nights rest, plenty for breakfast, and a really cool shirt that my Auntie Anne sent to me from Hawaii. We left the house at about 6:30 am and picked up Auntie Michelle and Auntie Susan. All was good until we hit the metro....... it was really muggy and boy there were lots of people but not too bad as we only had to wait for only two trains.

Today was also my first metro ride and I loved it! Most especially, I loved all the women that surrounded me ..... keeping me safe and all..... I think one chic was trying to hit on me (doesn't she know I prefer blondes... I mean really). A funny thing happened just before our stop.... Auntie Michelle, Auntie Susan and Mommy thought that they had smelled a present coming from my diaper..... little did they know it was only gas...lol :-) (ha ha... fooled you all.... is what I thought to myself). Mom checked and changed my diaper anyway and here I am below all refreshed and ready to start the race!

Once we arrived to the National Mall for the race, Daddy and Auntie Michelle took off for the runners start while Auntie Susan, Mommy and myself joined up with the walkers. Mommy and Auntie Susan wanted to walk faster but there were too many people.... I think roughly 50,000 or so but we still made the race in about an hour.

Afterwards, everyone met up in a nice shady spot to enjoy some snacks that Mom packed (apples, goldfish, TLC bars, pop tarts.... ). I can't wait to eat grown up food, this baby milk is getting old and I'd like more of a variety for my mature pallet.

Going home on the metro was a lot easier except for a brief moment when I started to get hungry. Mommy scrambled to find my pacifier but with all the junk she packed she had no luck. So, Mommy ended up making up a quick bottle for me to eat to shut me up..... needless to say it worked and Daddy was not too happy that Mommy had broken the rule of no eating on the metro (what are they going arrest a baby ?????.... well there was that one kid a few summers back that got arrested for eating french fries on the metro so, maybe).

Overall, today was a good day! I can't wait until next year's race.... maybe I can run it ...OK, let's be real.... Mommy will run it while pushing me in the stroller (she such a sucker for me already :-).

Love,

Emerson
