Zoo Lights Rock!

On Friday night, we went for the first time to Zoo Lights at the National Zoo. Auntie Michelle came out with us too boy did we have fun. It was really cold but well worth the trip. There were lights everywhere... big ones, small ones, chasing ones, and lights set to music. We also got to see some of the animals although most of them were sleeping. Did you know that Apes sleep with blankets at night time? Me neither, it was cute to see though. Check out snapshots from our outing below.

The entrance

"Here we are gearing up to make it through the crowds"

"Don't be fooled, that's not a real elephant"

"Underneath the lit up lizard is a real dear" " We kept praying that he wouldn't get too close to the lion's cage... YIKES!"

"These were cool trees that changed lights to music"

"This was my favorite animal by far that night." "Her name was Tulip"

"Here's something that you don't see everyday.... a dancing bear in a giant snow globe!"

Christmas Vacation

This year I had lots of time off for Christmas vacation and now I'm not sure that I will ever get a brother or sister!

Allow me explain, it all started with my continuous ear infections, pink eye, black eye and a diaper rash that just wouldn't go away. Well as you can imagine, that meant no school for me so my normal week and a half of Christmas vacation turned into 2 1/2 weeks. At first, I really enjoyed being at home but then I started to miss my friends at school coupled with the fact that I still didn't feel 100%. Early this week, Mom and Dad took me to Dr. Mantle (my ENT doctor) for a consultation on tubes for my ears. In addition to all of this, the weather here has been frigid which means that outside time is nonexistent these days. With that said, I've been doing a good job of jumping, pouncing and stomping on my parents last nerves.... (secretly I think it's kind of funny though :-). At one point, Mom said to me "Emerson, I'm not sure what house you think that you live in but you're going to pick up that food that you just threw on the floor" (Daddy thought that was funny too). OHHH and I've been doing a lot of time these days. Time in the Time Out chair that is!

On a positive note, I did get my haircut at this cool new place in the mall. It's called Cartoon Cuts and you get to watch cartoons and play with toys while you get your hair cut. My parents wish that they would have thought of it first :-). I loved it and you can get a glimpse of the place from pictures below.

Tomorrow is school! I'm just about done with my course of antibiotics, my butt is clear, and I'm ready to have some fun with my friends!

Happy New Year everyone!

"Here I am with my a Thomas the Train toy"

"I can't bother to look at the camera since Scooby Doo is on"

"Ahhh.... I've spent so much time in this chair over the past few weeks"

"It's rough doing hard time!"

Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve was a cold one! However, that didn't stop us from dressing up and heading to Christmas Eve services at our church. Mom and Dad were both excited that the holidays were upon us but, most of all, Mom was excited about my new suit :-). Afterwards, we drove into the District for our second annual tradition of visiting the National Christmas Tree. It was cold and windy but we didn't care. This year I really got to check out all of the trains. If you look real close in one of photos below, you can see the White House.
