Falling for Fall

The D.C. metro area has been rather chilly lately. For example, today's high temperature is 54 degrees but that is OK with me because I live for this weather! The air is crisp, the trees are beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow and the smell of apple cider & hot chocolate are calling me name constantly. My Mommy loves to hear the sounds of the football fans from the high school stadium close by and Daddy loves to take me on even more outdoor activities. I'm not sure Haddie knows how great it is but, she will soon (she still sleeps a lot).

Yesterday was Halloween and unlike the rest of the kids in my neighborhood, I chose to stay at home and help pass out candy. Honestly, why should I go trick-or-treating when my Mom let me have candy for breakfast earlier that day. Auntie Michelle came over in the morning yesterday too and brought me my very first Starbucks (calm down, it was hot chocolate people not coffee in that cup that you see below). All in all, it's been a great start to fall and while I did not go trick-or-treating, I did carve pumpkins with Daddy the weekend before. There's always next year to go out begging for candy. Seriously, by that time I'll need a break away from Haddie :-).

XO,
Emerson

Dad and I on Sunday morning drinking our Starbucks.

"Dad, you're not getting any of mine.... I can't help it that you finished yours already".

"MOM, back in the house until we're finished... I mean it this time!"

"Whew, this is hard work but somebody's got to do it"

"Here Daddy, what shall we do with all these pumpkin guts"

"Really Mommy, I said NO GIRLS allowed" "Now go inside until we're finished"

"Hey Daddy, I can't get the head back on my pumpkin" "Are you sure you carved this right?"

"You stay right there and don't make a peep"
