Grams comes to town - continued

Here's the rest of the photos that I mentioned in the first posting below:

"Come on folks, lets keep moving and hydrated"

Grams comes to town

This past Wednesday, my Grams flew in from Florida to come and visit me. My parents think that she came to see them but really it was to see me. Of course, I didn't let on that I knew that she was here especially to see me since it might have hurt their feelings or something. Anyways, it was a great treat and we had so much fun! Grams and I played lots of hide-n-go seek, chased each other around the house and outside and laughed a whole bunch. Ohhh and I almost forgot, have you ever heard of Veggie Tales? Well, my Grams bought me Larry the Cucumber with matching hard books and a jamin cd for the car (it has the Itsy Bitsy Spider... one of my favorites :-).

My Mommy had to work all week but Daddy took off and we took Grams on some adventures of our own. One day we went to the Botanical Gardens and another day we went to the National History Museum to see the butterfly exhibit. My Grams said she had a great time so Daddy and I were happy. Yesterday, we went down to Old Town Alexandria for a picnic on the waterfront and then BBQ'd last night.

Today, Grams had to catch a flight back to Florida and I sure will miss her. For now, I plan on relaxing and catching up on some rest before I go see my PaSa tomorrow.

I had so many photos that I wanted to share this week that I'm going to post more in another posting above this one. I hope everyone has a great week and is lucky enough to have a Grams as cool as mine.

Love,
Emerson
" This drives Mommy and Daddy crazy but I had to show off for my Grams"

"See you later Mommy.... I've got lots to explore"

"Chicken, biscuits, and animal crackers....now that's my idea of some good picnic eats"

" Mommy, can't we keep her?" "She really doesn't have to go does she?"

" Aw Ha! I finally got my hands on the new camera." "Now, lets see if I can break it"

O' What a Beautiful Day!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in the Washington, D.C. area. It was so nice that we went for one our hikes. This time, Daddy picked out a place just south of us in Prince William county in a state park close to Quantico. Of course Mommy brought snacks, sunblock, and plenty of water. Daddy was in charge of the hike and boy was it spectacular. I normally show you trees, waterfalls and such from our hikes. This time, I decided to show you some cool butterflies that I saw! Enjoy :-)

Love,
Emerson

"Come on guys let's get going!"

"Aren't I cute"
"Look how cool they are."
"I wonder what they're eating?" "Daddy tried to find out and they flew away"

Who needs Easter eggs when you can have a watering can?

Happy Easter Everybody!

Today we went to the early Easter church service and boy were there a lot of folks lined up to get in. We left the house 30 min. earlier than normal, just to get a seat and still sat in the back which was O.K. with me since it makes it much easier to leave when I get bored. Mom and Dad took turns as usual taking me in and out of the service, which makes it a lot of fun for me. However, Mom lets me run around in the hall next door to the church so I’d rather go with her. There were so many kids to play with that even though I was tired, I managed to stay awake so that I wouldn't miss a thing!

Later this afternoon, we are heading over to Auntie Michelle's for an Easter feast. The word on the street is that she might have an Easter egg hunt... WHOA! I just hope we find all of the eggs so that her house doesn't stink later on in the year.

Here's some snapshots from this morning. Mommy thinks I look like a little southern gentlemen and Daddy thinks I could be a southern lawyer. What do you think?

Love,

Emerson

"Daddy, please let me down... I know I can catch the puppy if I run fast enough"

"Woo Hoo, did somebody say Easter eggs and candy!"

"Whew.... I'm pooped." "It's so hard to be this cute and entertain a crowd of people"

Here I am catching up on some ZZZ's before our afternoon adventure at Auntie Michelle's

It's Springtime in D.C.!

The one thing that comes to mind when you think of D.C. and the spring and that's the Cherry Blossom Festival. My Mommy and Daddy's allergies also are a dead give-a-way that the trees are in full bloom :-).

Anyways, this is an annual festival that commemorates 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington back in 1912. These beautiful trees were given to honor the lasting friendship between the US and Japan and celebrate the close relationship between the two. The trees are all planted around the tidal basin in D.C. and are in full bloom usually the end of March/beginning of April each year.

So, the trees were pretty cool but most of all I enjoyed playing outside and watching the thousands of people. Plus, on the ride into the city, Mommy couldn't reach my food and since I was hungry and screaming she gave me some thin mints (thanks Aunt Cookie) and milk to tied me over. ... am I'm spoiled or what!

Here's some snapshots of today's adventure. Have a great week everyone!

Love,
Emerson

"Doesn't this look like lots of fun." "I can't wait until I'm old enough to ride in one of these."

"Check me out, I can almost reach the trees."

"If Mom will just look the other way then I can put this grass that I just picked into my mouth... I bet it tastes just as good as the stick I just tried to eat."

"Really Mom, people are looking." "You're going to have to cut the cord sooner or later."

" I'm just hanging out relaxing, playing ball and plotting my next escape. " "Mom and Dad better have their running shoes on today."
