Well maybe not all Irish :-) I'm told that I also have ancestors from Italy, England, Poland and Germany (hey isn't that what they refer to as a mutt?). Anyways, who cares.... HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY everyone and today I'm celebrating my Irish roots.
Side note: Mommy and Daddy bought me this shirt in Sept. 2007 when they were Ireland... I was still in Mommy's belly but then, you knew that I bet :-).
Have a great week!

SNIP SNIP
This past week, Mommy decided that she was tired of Daddy telling her that my hair looked like the beginings of a comb over. SOOO.. Mommy called up the best person for the job - Ms. Lorraine - Mommy's stylist for the past 5 years. Ms. Lorraine has her own salon in Old Town Alexandria called Lorraine Aprile Salon and now I understand why Mommy likes to go their.
Karen is Lorraine's sister and she's the first friendly face that you see upon arriving at the salon. Ms. Karen took care of making sure that I was able to get into see Ms. Lorraine. Ohhh and did I mention that Ms. Lorraine and Ms. Karen both have British accent which I think is really cool.... it's the first time I had ever heard one (especially given that most of my realatives that southern accents). Anyways, once I got my cool smock on, Ms. Lorraine started to snip away. I had to sit on Mommy's lap since I don't sit still just yet. I'm working on it though :-).
Ms. Angela, whom is another one of the Stylist in the salon, was really fun too. Ms. Angela could tell that I wasn't sure about this hair cutting business so she entertained me with silly faces and her warm smile. After Ms. Lorraine finished I got Mommy to take a photo of her and I to document the ocassion. Check us out below.
All in all, I think that my first haircut was a huge success and I can't wait until the next time. Lets just hope that my hair starts growing more and that I end up with thicker hair.... something tells me that it doesn't run in the family though :-).

Ahhh.... Life is good!
This past Monday we got 7 inches of snow. Fast forward to yesterday and today and the weather has been in the 70's. Geez no wonder why so many people are sick in the months of February and March around here. At any rate, life is good in the Barr house. Daddy and I are over our colds and stomach flu, Mommy and Daddy are took me for a long walk in my ride yesterday evening and Bob is friskier than ever with the windows open (this means that I really have to work hard to catch him now). Ohhh and I almost forgot one important thing.... I'm not walking anymore... I'M RUNNING! Yes, as you can imagine I am really giving my parents a run for their money. I overheard Daddy telling Mommy today before church that “I thought this didn't happen until they were 2". Hee hee hee.... suckers :-).
Have a great week everyone!

Emerson

Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum, YUM......
Is what Mr. Cookie Monster says whenever he talks to me. That was exactly what I thought as I was eating spaghetti for the very first time. Mommy thought it would be cute to get some video footage of me too. I just hope that this video doesn't come back to haunt me during my teen years!

I'm a Pepper, You're a Pepper...
wouldn't you want to be a Pepper too :-)
Hi Everyone,
Sorry it's been a couple of weeks but life here in the Barr household has been a little crazy. I developed this nasty stomach flu late last week and for days I couldn't keep anything down. I'm slowly on the path to recovery and getting back to eating food again... thank goodness! Mommy said that while she doesn't want to be sick, it sure would be nice to drop a few pounds. I told Mommy, no amount of sickness is worth loosing weight.... we laughed :-). Plus, Mommy can't get sick because then who would take care of Daddy and me? Did I mention that Daddy got the stomach flu and now he has a really bad head cold. Mommy says that he's been pushing himself too much lately and needs rest. In the meantime, I'm helping Mommy take good care of Daddy.
Other than that, life is good. I'm back at PaSa's during the week now that I'm better. PaSa really missed me for those 7 days too. Pa Sa was so excited to see me as I was her. Here's hoping for a healthy rest of the year!
XO,
Emerson
Ohhhh and the video below is some footage that Mommy took of me sneaking my soon to be favorite drink. I keep trying to tell her that I'm over this formula stuff but she keeps mumbling something about nutrients for brain and eye development or something..... honestly, I tune out after I hear the word "nutrients".

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!
After our hike earlier today, Daddy and I retired to the basement for serious football watching. In case you haven't heard, the Superbowl was on tonight. All and all, our family is routing for the Steelers even though the Cardinals won the coin toss. I think that the Steelers will get the job done..... they know what they have to do and they will get it done. Boy, that sounded just like something that John Madden would say, huh :-) BTW... Mommy can't stand John Madden... she says he just talks in circles and is probably the most overpaid sports newscaster in the history of sports. Anyways, Mommy went shopping with Auntie Sarita yesterday and bought me this cool chair pictured in the photo below. I love it especially since it's just like Daddy's chair. Mommy made us some snacks and stocked Daddy's beer fridge in the basement. I keep trying to convince Daddy for a sip of his beer but, Daddy told me that he can't or else Mommy will kill him. Oh well, you can't blame a guy for trying! Well, I gotta run but I'll catch ya in another week.
GO STEELERS!!!!
Love,

My First Hike!
The weather has been rather chilly here in the metro D.C. area. The most that I've seen of outside is to and from the house to the car. So when the temperature warmed up to 50 degrees today, Mommy and Daddy said that we're getting out of the house for sure! Auntie Kristin in Memphis,TN sent us a really cool hike pack that Jude had outgrown and wasn't using anymore. Mommy and Daddy were so appreciative and excited when it came since this meant for an easier time with me on their hiking trips that they liked so much in the past.
Today we went to Great Falls and took the old goldmine trail. There was still snow on the ground and some slush from the muddy trails but, it was really cool. We hiked for about 1 1/2 hours and my Daddy calculated about 4 miles or so. I'm looking forward to more hikes and for the spring weather most of all. Here's some pictures of our adventure.
